Alfonso is a professional cyclist who is loved by his fans and the media for his amazing techniques. Although he is headstrong on his goals, he has problems with alcohol and drug use, family and interpersonal relationships, and his insecurities. His goal has always been to join the Tour of California, but it is thrown off course when he is diagnosed with leukemia and gets sent to a hospital.
